A lifelong and avid reader, I started writing around 2001. The drive to write was largely born from a desire to get the ideas and thoughts swirling around inside my head organised, and then out of my head.
For a lot of years, I wrote a blog.
By 2006, the blogs had started giving rise to short-story ideas. Another two years of blogs and short stories eventually gave rise to the thought that I was ready to write a thriller novel.
I wasn't ready.
Then again, I don't think anyone ever is. If people waited until they were ready to write a novel, I'm not sure many novels would ever get written.
By 2008, the first draft was finished. It would eventually account for about 70% of the completed book. The next four years were spent working out how to turn the story in my head into something an audience might actually enjoy reading.
A year after publishing Chasing Innocence, which enjoyed bestselling status and decent financial success, I wrote and published Mahrie.
Mahrie is a great story read by very few people.
Then we produced a daughter.
Ten years down the line, I still have a passion for turning an author's idea for a story into entertainment, four unfinished books, and now, finally, a little more time.
That time starts with getting all my writing projects organised and available to read through websites I've been meaning to create for almost the entirety of those ten years.
Time is still not quite a luxury, so these websites will not be graphical marvels. As words are the name of the game, the sites will be text-heavy.
It seems appropriate.
This site, then, is a bookmark on the internet for my finished work.
Thankfully, the old blogs no longer exist, but my short stories do. They will be revisited by the modern-day Korvus, edited where necessary, and made available here.
Mahrie will also be available here in its entirety, followed by Chasing Innocence. Both will be free to read on the site.

And yes, Joss Korvus is a pen name.
My real name is uncomfortably close to that of a certain magical schoolboy and is almost impossible to find on the internet beneath the mountain of content generated about him.
